I was a little nervous at first. My dog had an ear infection last year, and I figured they might just label everything as pre-existing and be done with it.
I called to ask about it, and they actually explained what would count and what wouldn’t. Clearly, too. It lined up with what I saw in the policy, which helped. When I filed a claim for a new skin issue, they did ask for vet notes, but that felt reasonable.
It wasn’t super fast or anything. Not perfect. But it felt fair, and I appreciated that they didn’t make it confusing or just automatically deny the claim.

My rate jumped more than I was expecting this year, which was definitely a fun little surprise. I reached out to customer service, and to be fair, they were actually helpful and explained things clearly. The coverage still seems decent, so I’m not rushing to switch or anything. It’s not exactly amazing, but I guess I’ll keep it for now.

I checked out petcareins.com because I was looking for cover for my dog, but it left me a bit unsure. Some of the basic info was easy enough to find, but the important bits like limits, exclusions, and what’s actually covered felt like they were tucked away or not explained properly.
I also ended up waiting in a queue longer than I expected just to try and get more clarity, which was frustrating. Maybe the cover is fine, but I didn’t feel confident enough to go ahead. I’d rather see the prices, rules, and exclusions clearly upfront instead of having to dig around for them.

"Getting reimbursed takes way too long"
The coverage itself seems fine, I guess, but wow, getting your money back is such a hassle. My claim just sat there for weeks with no updates, and I ended up having to email them twice just to get things moving. They’re not the worst company ever, but when you’ve already paid a huge vet bill, waiting forever for reimbursement is really frustrating

I’ve been paying every month thinking I’d be somewhat covered in an emergency, but when I actually had to go in, I still ended up with a huge bill. The whole process felt really impersonal too, like there wasn’t a real person there to help explain anything or make it feel less stressful.

I was pleasantly surprised by how clear the coverage info was. It was easy to understand and didn’t feel buried in a bunch of confusing fine print. Overall, really solid experience, I just took off one star because the pricing felt a little high.

"Canceling was straightforward"
I ended up needing to cancel my policy because my dog got coverage through my job. Overall, it wasn’t a huge hassle and they did get everything canceled and confirmed like they said they would. The only downside was that I had to wait a bit for the email response, so it wasn’t as quick as I would’ve liked. Still, painless in the end.
